Ferran Brooks´PRIMUS at the Short Film Corner – Cannes 2014

A sci-fi short film that has been selected by the International Film Festival of Cannes 2014.

“PRIMUS” has been directed by Ferran Brooks one of our most talented filmmakers. Brooks is the only Spanish Director awarded with the Panavision New Filmmaker Prize. Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, Pozos de Ambición, Boogie Nights) or Steven Soderbergh (Ocean Eleven’s, Traffic, Erin Brockovich, El Che) are among other prestigious directors to have been awarded with the same prize early in their career.

“PRIMUS” was filmed in Loasur Film Studios which participates as co-producer. It´s a science fiction story filled with groundbreaking special effects. Two production teams have worked together in this project which started in Valencia and moved to Málaga where the filming was finalized.

Year 2040
A world where the new technologies are virtualizing and are substitutes for real life. Alice, a beautiful 8 year-old girl who enjoys solitude is growing in an environment utterly lacking love and happiness. She receives the best gift that money can buy: an intelligent robot called Nel. They soon establish a solid friendship and together will be confronted with an unpleasant event that no child should ever witness.
